Pacific Blue Design & Build is a Seattle design-build studio shaped around a simple idea—that a home should be drawn for the family inside it, engineered for the climate around it, and built without handoffs, hidden margins, or guesswork.
Architects, designers, and builders under one roof—one contract, one team, no handoffs.
Family-owned, fully bonded, built to current Washington State and Seattle DCI code on every project.
Your number is locked the day we sign. Every change order is documented and approved in writing.
Built for Puget Sound rain, marine air, and seismic code—not a generic national playbook.
Rooted in Seattle
Pacific Blue Design & Build was founded by Seattle builders and designers who spent years inside other firms watching the same pattern repeat—designers who never visited the site, builders who never read the drawings, and homeowners caught in the gap between them.
We started this studio to close that gap. Pacific Blue Design & Build is structured as a single design-build practice for King, Pierce, and Kitsap County—so the person who sketches your floor plan is on a first-name basis with the person framing your walls, and every decision lives in one set of documents from the first site walk to final punch list.
A single team from design through construction
Drawings developed for the way Seattle homes actually weather
Written change orders and fixed bids
Quiet, considered design that ages with the home
Clarity in Every Step
A remodel is a long conversation between drawings, decisions, and the people who live inside the result. We've structured ours so the homeowner is never the last to know—and never the one chasing answers.
Every cabinet, casework run, and built-in we install is drawn in-house and produced through trade partners we've vetted personally. We don't carry a stock catalog because no two Pacific Northwest homes share the same wall, ceiling, or sightline—and the millwork shouldn't pretend otherwise.
The Right Team Matters
A whole-home remodel is a months-long conversation between the family, the architect, and the crew. We staff Pacific Blue around that conversation—small teams, deep specialization, and the same faces in your home from first walk to final clean.
Seattle homes weren't drawn for big-box floor plans. They're drawn for grey light, indoor evenings, wet entries, mudrooms that actually need to drain, and a culture that pulls the outside in even when it's raining sideways. We design every Pacific Blue project around that reality—not a Sunbelt template adapted with darker paint.
Each home we touch is a one-of-a-kind brief. We listen, draw, and revise until the plan reflects how this household actually moves through a Tuesday in February—not just a staged Saturday in July
More Than a Contractor
Choosing the right design-build partner is about more than picking a portfolio you like. It's about how decisions get made when the unexpected shows up behind a wall—and Pacific Blue Design & Build is structured for that moment. A single studio. A single contract. A team accountable to the drawing, the budget, and you.
Whether you're planning a whole-home renovation, a custom kitchen, a new ADU, or a thoughtful addition, the conversation starts with a site walk and a free estimate. No pressure, no pre-built quote, no template—just a real read on what your home could be.

We don't just build homes; we engineer living experiences. By limiting our annual client intake, we ensure uncompromised dedication, transparent communication, and flawless execution for your estate.
Timelines vary with scope, permits, and material lead times. For context: a primary-suite and kitchen-focused remodel typically runs 14 to 20 weeks on site; a whole-home remodel involving structural changes typically runs 20 to 32 weeks; a full estate-level renovation can extend beyond. Every Shiro contract carries a written completion date with a per-diem accommodation guarantee if we miss that date for reasons within our control.
Every commission is assigned an interior direction led by the principal. You receive a curated material palette produced for your residence — never a generic selection menu — brought to you on site or presented in our studio. Selections are locked before construction begins, the discipline that allows us to hold a fixed price.
Absolutely. Shiro Builders Group provides a comprehensive multi-year craftsmanship warranty on all structural work and installations. Additionally, we facilitate and transfer all manufacturer warranties directly to you for appliances, premium fixtures, and materials.
Site integrity is paramount. Before any work commences, we deploy heavy-duty floor protections, dust-containment barriers, and air scrubbers to isolate the construction zone. Your existing property and art are treated with the utmost respect throughout the process.
Yes. We carry premium-tier general liability insurance, workers' compensation, and are fully bonded and licensed to operate as general contractors in all luxury jurisdictions we serve. Certificates are provided seamlessly upon request.
