Pacific Blue is a Seattle design-build studio crafting whole-home renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, and ADUs across King, Pierce, and Kitsap counties — drawn for the way you actually live, engineered for the way the Sound actually weathers.
Architects, designers, and builders under one roof — one contract, one team, no handoffs.
Family-owned, fully bonded, built to current Washington State and Seattle DCI code on every project.
Your number is locked the day we sign. Every change order is documented and approved in writing.
Built for Puget Sound rain, marine air, and seismic code — not a generic national playbook.
Who we are
Pacific Blue Design & Build is a studio rooted in the Sound. Thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and lived experience.
We create homes inspired by the coastal Northwest. Every project we take on begins with listening — to the family, to the architecture, to the site itself. From kitchens to whole-home transformations, we deliver work that's quietly beautiful, structurally honest, and built to outlast the seasons.
What we do
Whether you're rethinking a single room or reimagining your home from the foundation up, our team brings the same level of craft, communication, and creative care to every square foot.

Each transformation begins with deep respect for what's already there. Honor any home's worth a careful, careful read on what the home was always meant to be — same home, refined intention.
A 1972 cottage stripped to the studs and re-engineered with a vaulted main, hand-milled white oak floors, and a kitchen built around a 12-ft Cascadian Bedger marble counter — every modern subsystem rebuilt, every historic detail honored.
Climate & Local Conditions
The Pacific Northwest punishes shortcuts. We design and build for sustained rainfall, seismic risk, freeze-thaw cycles on hardscape, and the Seattle DCI permitting environment — every structural and finish decision is engineered for performance and longevity.
— Rain & Moisture
Seattle averages 152 rainy days a year. We spec rain-screen siding, oversized gutter systems, and continuous flashing details that keep wood-framed homes dry for the long haul.
— Seismic & Soil
New foundation work and structural retrofits are engineered for Cascadia subduction risk and Puget Sound's clay-heavy fill — not borrowed from a sun-belt spec book.
— Permitting & Code
From SDCI plan review to King County building permits and DADU regulations, we manage every approval in-house so the project starts on time, not "eventually.
Material & Suppliers
Every fixture, finish, and structural component is sourced from suppliers we've vetted over thousands of project hours — local where it matters, international where it earns its place. Every line-item we install is matched to the warranty we sign.
our process
Our process has been carefully refined to keep clients informed, budgets transparent, and timelines consistent — all without compromising the quality of the work.
We begin with a shared conversation in your home. We listen, measure, and learn everything from the spatial quirks to budget realities.
Our in-house architect develops a tailored design — complete with material samples, rendered walk-throughs, and itemized estimates.
Construction is led by a single project manager, with weekly walk-throughs and a private client portal for every update.
Your home is professionally cleaned, every system commissioned, and a maintenance binder delivered. Photos document every step from day one.
The Pacific blue difference
We don't just build homes — we engineer the living experience inside them. Every meaningful homeowner who chooses Pacific Blue receives concierge-level dedication, transparent communication, and refined execution from day one.
Our specialized team of finish carpenters, tile setters, and stone masons brings decades of architectural experience. From Pacific Northwest cedar to imported European cabinetry, every detail is executed to perfection.
You see every line item — material costs, labor allocation, permit fees, subcontractor bids. No "budget creep," no hidden margin, no surprise at the final invoice.
One named point of contact from the day we sign through final punch list. Texts answered the same business day. Weekly progress photos delivered every Friday.
Our scheduling system and long-standing trade partnerships routinely deliver remodels 20–30% faster than the Seattle market average — without cutting corners on quality, code, or craftsmanship.
"I built this practice around the way I'd want a contractor to treat my own home — fewer clients, more oversight, and decisions made in writing before work begins. That's the standard on every Pacific Blue project."— Founder Pacific Blue Design & Build

Answers Before You Ask
We don't just build homes — we engineer the experience of building one. Below are the questions Seattle homeowners ask us most often before signing a contract.
Most whole-home renovations between 1,500 and 3,500 square feet finish in 14 to 22 weeks once permits are pulled. Kitchen-only remodels typically run 8 to 12 weeks; bathrooms run 4 to 6 weeks. Every Pacific Blue contract includes a written completion date — not a "we'll see."
Our in-house designer guides every selection — cabinetry, counters, tile, plumbing fixtures, flooring, paint, and hardware. You'll review physical samples in our Seattle studio and approve a complete material schedule before construction begins, so there are no mid-build decisions or surprise change-orders.
Yes. We handle 100% of permitting through Seattle DCI, King County, Pierce County, or Kitsap County — including structural review, energy code (WSEC) compliance, electrical, plumbing, and DADU approvals. You sign nothing at the city counter.
Before demolition, we install dust containment, floor protection, and a dedicated work entrance. Adjacent rooms stay livable wherever possible. Daily cleanup is part of every contract — your home stays a home, not a job site.
Yes. Pacific Blue Design & Build is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured Washington State contractor, carrying general liability and workers' compensation on every employee. License and insurance certificates are included in every signed contract.
We follow L&I and OSHA standards on every project — daily site walks, lockout-tagout procedures, and proper PPE for every trade. Lead-safe RRP protocols are followed on any home built before 1978.
